PIR FOAM Blocks, Sheets/Boards, Pipe covers/Pipe sections

Compared to PU / PUF (Polyurethane Foam), the PIR insulation products have increased fire performance and reduced combustibility and a higher working temperature limit. Rigid PIR is manufactured using an excess of the MDI (methylene diphenyl di-isocyanate component). In the presence of an appropriate catalyst, the excess MDI reacts with itself to form ISOCYANURATE, resulting in greater heat stability. Polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam is chemically and thermally more stable: breakdown of Isocyanurate bonds is reported to start above 200°C, compared with urethane at 100 to 110°C. The Fire Resistance (Self-Fire Exting extinguishing Feature) of this material is better than B-3 type PU. • Polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam is chemically and thermally more stable • Ideal material for a variety of heat insulation applications. Bare PIR boards, PIR sheets with Aluminum and Kraft paper skin/ Lamination. It is better than normal B-3 PU (Polyurethane Foam), because PIR is Self-Fire extinguishing generally. Available in various thicknesses and densities.
