The XPS (Extruded Polystyrene) board is a rigid board that is produced from the Polystyrene resin by the process of extrusion, and is a closed cell insulation material that is widely used for remodeling and construction applications. This board is strong and durable, making it an ideal product for a variety of building applications. Because of its high-density cell structure, it preserves its thermal and physical properties provided it does not come in direct contact with water. Due to its high compressive strength and higher R value (the higher the R value the better the insulation performance), it is preferred for insulating roofs, walls and floors.
